Discovered that Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium commonly living in the stomach of humans, causes ulcers and stomach cancer. Shared Nobel prize with Colleague Dr J. Robin Warren in Physiology or Medicine in 2005. Interested in bedside sensing and diagnosis and the Internet of Things.
