    Heating Problem

We have a smart plug that detects changes in light and appropriately opens/closes the relay. It is a 2" by 2" socket rated for 6A, 240V. We have an X2 capacitor (0.68uF/275V) and a 100Ω resistor in parallel, connected to the line for interference suppression. The problem is that the resistor is...

    Timed Power Socket

Sir Edd, that is a very thought out solution. I'm on it already. Thanks a looooot for this. I have noted down the details, taken printouts, need to go through it 3-4 times and work on it side by side to do this and get back to you. Again, can't thank you enough.

Need help with some components in a PCB

Thanks Martin. I tried to look hard at U1, it says CM2X where X is unreadable. Yes Z2. Q1 just has 1P. I found the datasheets for this particular transistor but not sure what grade it is, but nobody will be able to find that out before going into detail of the schematics & circuit.

Need help with some components in a PCB

I've been trying to draw a schematic of a PCB of a Belkin Conserve Socket I opened but can't quite figure out a few things. If anyone can identify these, please help. What do these markings mean? Rev.A3, 94V-0, E320003, YF-2 ? There is an unmarked chip (microcontoller? or Power IC?) called U1...

    Timed Power Socket

Yes it is. I'm an Electronics Engineer but starting from the scratch after almost a decade of non-relevant work. The way I understand this circuit after a bit more reading is that the relay is connected to a secondary timer circuit, not sure if that's correct or not though.

    Timed Power Socket

Hello, Apologies in advance if this is not the right place to ask this question. I recently bought a Belkin Conserve Socket for personal use with 30 minutes, 3 hours & 6 hours options to time the socket after which it automatically shuts off switching off the power supply. I wanted to build a...
