    Damaged Crystal

And BTW, I thought about it, and the residue it leaves behind need not actually be conductive, it could simply collect moisture from the air and become conductive...

    Damaged Crystal

Please do, it is still useful, especially since my solution seems absurd and it may break again (I think)

    Damaged Crystal

OK problem solved. While soldering the extra pins to the board I used a water soluble flux. As it turns out, upon drying it leaves a conducting residue. I tested two random points on the board with an ohmmeter and to my surprise it was around 100kOhm. So I washed my board in a bath of distilled...

    Damaged Crystal

Hi. I have a Nuvoton NUC123 microcontroller, it runs an ARM cortex M0, and it came on a developement board (NUC123 SDK) which contains a 12 MHz crystal. It recently started freezing every other time upon reset, and in the debugger I saw that it is stuck in a while loop, waiting for the external...

    LGA to DIP adapter

I can also find these lots of adapters, but soldering a 7 mm X 7 mm LGA onto one of them is just as hard as not having an adapter at all... so what's the point.

    LGA to DIP adapter

Hi. I am working on a project which requires a specific integrated circuit which only comes in an LGA 24 package. I tried searching the web for a through-hole adapter. I found schmart boards but they're only good for SMT with pins. I've seen that PC CPU's are LGA and they are connected via a...

    4093 and 4070

Actually I have two more questions: 1. Does the capacitor have to be ceramic? I assume it's because it needs to be non polar? 2. If I have 3 IC on my circuits each connected to the same rails for VSS and VDD. If I connect a 0.1uF capacitor between the VSS and VDD of each chip. Isn't it the same...

excellent. that was going to be my next question. :)

Wow thanks alot. I did not know these things. thank you!

    4093 and 4070

hi, I'm using these two components on my circuit, they both have 4 gates on one 14 pin chip, but I don't need the whole functionality. Can I just leave the unneeded pins not connected? or must I connect them to Vcc/ground ? The datasheet says nothing about this issue... Thank you!
