Long story short, one of my ebike motor's phase wires's insulation is split open and I suspect it's shorting. Normally, I'd use heatshrink to cover up the damaged insulation, but the phase wire is soldered to the phase wires in a big soldered strand bundle, so I don't think I can put heatshrink...
