Cat door sensor jammed by steel (metal) enforced wall

The second to last photo and the last photo show the overall aperture. 1/2” plastic strips inside the aperture forming a barrier. This means opening the aperture/hole a further 1/2” all round.

Cat door sensor jammed by steel (metal) enforced wall

Yes, metal can effect radio waves of RFID. It can disrupt and de-tune the radio signal. Plastic will form a barrier.

Cat door sensor jammed by steel (metal) enforced wall

RFID!. Interesting. You said it works about 50mm (5cm) away from the door. I would first try a plastic barrier. A half inch (1/2”) plastic around the opening to form a barrier. This obviously means opening the hole by a further 1/2”.

Cat door sensor jammed by steel (metal) enforced wall

The electronics are in the front, not the tunnel section you put foil over. Also, adding foil is doing the same thing as the metal section. I wonder what type of cat flap it is?. When installed into the door, does the flap stay unlocked or locked?. I ask because some have a magnet in the cats...

    Ignition coil...

I think it would depend on the frequency as ignition coils are pulsed DC. Our homes are 50/60Hz depending on what country you’re in. This may be far too slow and constant and over heat the coil. But I’ve never tried it so it’s only a guess.

    Amplifier biased too hot?

Most amps I’ve serviced have trim pots. I see absolutely no reason why you can’t keep them there. After all, a trim pot is just a variable resistor. Down sides: On older amps, trim pots do fail by either tolerances or oxidation. In those scenarios, I have replaced the trim pots or put in a fixed...

    BLUETOOTH ANTENNA

I think that it’s possible to add an external antenna. Cut the PCB antenna traces to eliminate it and use either a SMA or U.FL connector. Then screw on a 2.4g antenna. I’m not sure whether impedance matching will be an issue though. The Bluetooth IC data sheet may give that information.

The position reading from the driver keeps jumping.

I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination but I would first try a rigid coupler rather than a flexible one.

Splitting and re connecting LED string lighting

I still don’t understand how you achieved this. I’m glad it worked out well for you though. Have you added more LEDs or simply lengthened the wires?. Or did you cut two lengths off and parallel them, forming the’T’?. Either way, luck was definitely on your side.

    Part Identification

Not being able to see the traces properly, it appears that the two (2) resistors across the gate and source are possibly pull downs to ensure the mosfets are off. The two (2) on the drain are probably current limiting.

Hi. I have a parkside PLG 20 C3 charger that has completely stopped working.

This is getting ridiculous. Almost word for word identical to post #4. Are these AI?
