    A waste spark system works on two "paired" cylinders only that fire simultaneously. One cylinder will be completing compression stroke while the paired cylinder will be completing exhaust stroke so not to cause any misfires during the cycle.

    You are definitely correct about the rotor not touching the distributor cap the spark jumps or arcs the gap. My issue is my 4 stroke engine hits revolutions of 10,000 revolutions per minute. Making my mechanical distributor inefficient at those speeds.
