    problem dvd player power supply

    In the past I have noticed electrolytic radial capacitors getting bad and not showning the usual signs. Particularly at the control function components. They are generally voltage undersized.  Just a thought. Hope it gives you proper direction.

    NEC monitor help!

    Have you checked the 12v supply to the backlight inverter or the inverter.  These seem to be the most common backlighting problems.
