I saw my first motorcycle when I was about 4, in a barn while I was waiting for my Father who was doing some business. I wanted to own it, keep it, make it mine. I would never make it to obsession.
I got a honda 90 for christmas my 13th year, and learned to ride on dirt roads and sawdust trails. My interest in electronics began when I was 9 when I was trying to replace my motorcycle mania with something more profitable and worth while. I built a circuit from an antennea array and a 9v battery that created a static ball about 6 feet in diameter that scared experimentation out of me. I theorized after making it through PLL technologies that my array might charge a battery in only a few milliseconds using compression caps and variables... the next year they created a battery less starting system and Radio Shack launched their PLL radio equip. So much for invention, excitement and discovery!
Radio sets leave blood trails...
