    Magazines

I still have a dozen copies of Elektor (mainly 'Summer Circuits'), most 'Everyday with Practical Electronics' from 1992 to 2005. All the rest binned long ago. I wrote for several of the UK mags in the 90s. But regrettably the only electronics articles I still have on my PC are some of my chatty...

    PicoScope: Any users?

The normal USB to Parallel connectors (i.e. cables, not converters) don't work for Pico ADC products. Hence their proprietary (now deceased) adapter. Which model do you have? 2000 series? I'm interested in hearing from other users re my Q2. -- Terry, East Grinstead, UK

    PicoScope: Any users?

Thanks Bluejets, that's a thread I'd already seen during my previous research, but unfortunately didn't help me. Current status: sent back both the adapter and the ADC-200 to Pico. Beginning to look as if both were somehow internally damaged by the crash I mentioned, although the ADC's LED...

    PicoScope: Any users?

The ADC-200 does (and its LED is on) but the adapter is presumably powered from the PC USB port. That LED is not on. (I assume the two ports I've tried are OK; I used themt earlier to copy files to a flash memory stick.) I tried connecting the ADC-200 and its adapter to this PC (another XP) via...

    PicoScope: Any users?

No joy. After setting up as per manual, still get same message. Tried 12 different BIOS configurations of parallel port. Even tried assuming XP was mistaken about it being LPT1 and set LPT2 in Picoscope sw. So after 12 reboots, still stumped. Pico will take a look at it, but not optimistic.

    PicoScope: Any users?

Thanks for the fast reply, dorke. That sounds promising! Posting away from home so as soon as I get back I'll try it. I wouldn't have explored that because the 'not connected' message was accompanied by Continue and Exit and I always clicked the latter. But what you say makes complete sense, as...

    PicoScope: Any users?

I use a PC oscilloscope from Pico Technology, an old model called ADC-200 which is no longer supported but meets my hobbyist needs well. It connects to a USB socket on my XP PC via a special adapter, the 'Pico USB Parallel Port'. Suddenly, it's stopped working. The Picoscope software tells me...

    CircuitMaker 2000: Any users here?

Have you tried it on another pc..? Yes, the ancient PC in my shed/workshop, which runs under XP Home. Exactly the same problem with those particular circuits. (Both PC specs meet the requirements.) I've uploaded an example CKT file consisting of just a single resistor, which I made by deleting...

    CircuitMaker 2000: Any users here?

Thanks both. Bizarrely It seems that this problem with Quick Connect occurs with some circuits and not others. So far I've not been able to establish anything that distinguishes these two. It's not component related because if I delete everything and then add say a single resistor, the problem...

    CircuitMaker 2000: Any users here?

Thanks. That's not CM 2000. It's the latest release I mentioned (about 15 years later). But its lack of support for XP that you've highlighted is another reason for my not considering it. I would think free downloadable versions of CM 2000 are still around if you're curious. -- Terry, East...

    CircuitMaker 2000: Any users here?

Thanks Martin. That remains an option I'll explore, but if at all possible I'm very keen to stick with my old version of CM, as I'm so familiar with it. There's also the latest, free, 'community' version of Atrium CircuitMaker I was considering (on the assumption that it might still be similar...

    CircuitMaker 2000: Any users here?

Hi, first post here for many years, after recently returning to my electronics hobby. I use CircuitMaker 2000 for schematics and simulation on my PC under XP Pro. I have a few problems and am looking for a forum to seek help on them. Are there any users here please? If so, my most immediate...
