    why?

    To powerful, to fast. I think the main reason is that a lightning strike is a few billion volts and only last for a fraction second, id like to see someone try to harnass the sort of power without blowing the absolute crap out of something.

    Thanks This is the Circuit I plan to use partly my design and partly not. Diode pot configuration alows for independant control over the high and low pulse duration and R2 ajust the over all frequency. havent decided on the best valuse yet.

    Thanks for the help, so using the transistor mentioned or something similar, with the 555 pulse to the base and the emmiter to the base of the power transistor, or would i need a slightly more complex cicuit.
