Should I measure the gap between legs to determine the correct ones or will either do? As I know the legs will bend into place. Also am I right in thinking the 160v rating is not so much an issue as Long as the uf is the same? Would the maplins ones be a better option ?

I doubt it would produce enough power to simply hook it up to a larger speaker, think you would need some sort of amp or small preamp to get the volume you require, Possibly a pocket guitar amplifier, think they produce around 10 to 15 watts that may work and you could also use the speaker from it.
