    Thanks nice clear picture fuse which has gone Also burnt out capacitor? between +ve and -ve which looks to be the origin of the burn. As per later post I'll remove and check the transistor (B857)

    re BER - I can get a replacement board for a 1/3 of the price of a new new unit re multilayer board - double sided only, tracks are traceable/ repairable re 3 pin through hole component - a 2 pin SMC is what has gone.

    Makita radio blown component id needed

    I've been given a Makita LXT Radio DMR209 to repair. There is a blown component in the voltage regulator circuit, I assume it was a resistor. Does anyone have an intact DMR209 (or similar) board on which the component can be positively identified? Doing a search I've seen a few DMR2xx boards...
