PLS help; Crane Reomte Control Modification

Hi MAA, Welcome to our forum. Why not use the same kind as used in a department store to protect from theft. You put one of those “radar reflector” tags on the remote and the sensor equipment by the door (doors). This might also be the safest way since you do not have to tamper with the remote...

    key chain laser power supply

Hi Steven, There are no problems viewing your pictures. Nice project, how far can this beam reach? Doesn’t it need any shielding, some kind of tube or alike to protect against other light sources?

    Battery Charger

Hi, It might if it has a transformer but not if it is a switch mode operated.

    Battery Charger

Hi EshOck, It depends on what kind of charger it is and which voltage you are using.

Hi francis, Wellcome to our forum. It’s possible to make one yourself if there is enough space behind the panel.

    Can I ask this?

Hi Bjorn, In my opinion; why not? I have seen many work related posts and I think everybody could learn something from it. Car electronics covers a lot of things from climate control and EFI to MP3 players and ABS. Have you decided how wide this course is going to be?

    lead acid batery charger

Hi again tnk, Yes, when you read about diodes in a book they are 0.7V drop but in practice they are between 0.45 and 0.65 Volts. I can’t remember encountering a standard diode which was as high as 0.7 as the books says. Schottkys are sometimes even lower (about 0.4) and most fast recovery...

    lead acid batery charger

Yes I know but the 6.2Z + the reversed standard diode I series will work fine I guess! With some effort one can find the exact match for 6.88V!  ;D

    My solderstation failed

Hi Staigen, Did you notice any change between hot and cold during this measurement?

    lead acid batery charger

But on the other hand one can use a 6.2V Zener in series with a standard diode (reversed) and you get pretty close. Another benefit from this is very low drift, they kind of compensate for each other. I fact it wouldn’t be that bad after all! I still prefer the LM317 though! 8)

Hi tnk, Zeners are somewhat old-fashioned don’t you think! Ever heard of the LM317? ;D ;D ;D

HELP! project abt DC power supply.

Hi infinity, Just adding some to Bjorns detailed answer: To your first question; there are no resistors needed in this circuit! You can learn more about the voltage regulators here: http://www.aleeanne.org.uk/datasheets/datasheet2/LM7815.PDF You can use the same circuit for heavier load by...

    My solderstation failed

Hi Staigen, Have you measured the resistance between pin 3 and 4 on the 5-pin connector (iron side) hot and cold?

    lead acid batery charger

Hi Guys, For continuous charging the cell voltage should not exceed 2.3V (2.29) or the battery starts loosing water. If the voltage is limited to (in this case) 6.88 V the current is not that important.
