I know it is possible to charge alkalines but they are not really made for this. I do not recommend it, things are known to go wrong if you do. To have a acceptable result you must charge when the alkalines are only half discharged and this is hard to supervice.

The velleman kit has no feedback so in case the pressure changes slowly the relay will rattle. If you want to reverse the relay function you can use the NO contact of the relay or swap the inputs on the opamp.
