If I were a bass player I'd probably spend a lot of my life learning to do that stuff on "Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes".

RF Generator with 1600Vdc output 20KW

Let's imagine a dot fell off the panel, and it's really 2.0kW. Is it now safe?

"Well you cain't win 'em all", and I'm not so sure I've been winning any lately. Kris' opinion of Stockhausen is pretty close to the consensus. A dance party on an sufficiently small asteroid might well allow the kind of evolutions wanted to gracefully accompany these octave/minute glissandos...

Trying to make analogue sound to lcd?

Since the thread has already been thoroughly corrupted, I feel free to admit the following: The "NDE" (Near Death Experience) phenomenon may be an exception to the general rule of "nothing being there to find". I sat with (next to, in conversation) a man who was capable of causing objects...

    VOIP to analogue phone adapter.

Ahh, thanks Raven. I might have been fooled by lack of familiarity with modern connector names. My post is all about how to deal with the analogue side, and as far as that goes I stand by it. I never imagined that the OP might believe he could plug a phone into his digital stream, but it's a...

    VOIP to analogue phone adapter.

The theory can look very scary - lots of new big words. I would have drawn the circuit and explained it already (you'll be surprised at how simple it is) but that I'm tired.

Hey, Paul Simon! Yeah! How about Massive Attack? (You need good bass response., they're why I bought my Bose.) They produce such wonderful music but it is so psycho-negative. Sneaker Pimps: 6 Underground. Steely Dan have their own weird attitude I don't always like. But such arrangements, so...

    VOIP to analogue phone adapter.

I think your main problem will be that your telephone is a 2 wire device whereas you have a 4 wire signal. In other words the telephone is designed to separate the send and receive signals from the 2 wire line, while in VOIP there's no reason to go 2 wire - the signals are never mixed onto a...

I play jazz on my guitar but also like dubstep and really filthy dirty drum'n'bass. What fun! Stockhausen does good things to me, too, among uncountable others.

Call it a "mains fail relay" and you'll find something you can run continuously.

variable frequency generator? (to power a transistor)

500k RPM translates to 8.3kHz, and I'd be scared of something spinning that fast - it might come to bits in an awful hurry.

Nice enough pictures. I don't quite know what you want any of us to say, but I can't believe anybody will be breathing sighs of relief quite yet.

    Army Surplus power supply..

Hmmm You really need a pretty good familiarity with the graphical representation of functions if you are to follow any explanation I can give. A steep function of the form y=m*x+c gives a wide range of output for a small range of input, whereas if m is smaller so will be the output range of...

A 'trip' switch, looking for anwsers

Reed relays are slow. Optocoupled inerrupted beams are fast, and cheap. You can buy optocouplers with slots in the chip, and a slotted disc on the motor shaft can be set to pass through the slot. Look at the search results for "slotted optocoupler" and you'll see what I mean.

A 'trip' switch, looking for anwsers

:) It's easy enough to wire a relay to switch a magnetic load. If you have a signal you want to control the relay, you can feed that signal into a transistor which will operate your relay. So if your receiver produces a steady signal when the IR LED is lit, you have something to work with. But...

No idea about this tuning capacitor

Hiya there Mr Number :) You need to study up about LC tanks, which are used for their tunable resonance. Tuning is achieved by changing the capacitance - the "C" in the LC. The "L" is an inductor - often a great length of very fine wire wrapped around a ferrite rod. With your oscilloscope, you...
