    So I've written out all the resistor values, thanks for the tip about using the E24 series, very helpful! and the caps values stayed the same so I can still use the ones that I bought!

    I built the preamp today for the 12k i used a 10k and 2k in series and for the 27k I used a 22k and a 4.7k will that be sufficient I can swap it out if not when my other resistors come in the post!!?? I'm not wure which rating ie 12 24 I got because I got my mum to order them, they were off...

    nice one thanks, I just realised I have some on order! from ebay so you know here there are some arbitrary numbers do I just round them to the nearest whole number of resistor that is in the kit of resistors or sholud I mix the values to arrive at the correct values??? intuition tells me to mix!

    ok I have the electrolytics 16v im not certain of which way to orient some of them the can you annotate this pictures please for the 4 caps and the 2 in the buffer I'm pretty sure I can guess but need to make certain thank you!! no I'm taking out C18! and putting the mic in there!

    I'm going to purchase some bits from mouser BAT43's and need at least 4 x 10uf, make that 6 with the buffer REF GND circuit and I need 4 of those so thats 12 so I'll probably get 15-20 10uf! I want to build up a little bit of a list first though because the postage is relativly high!!

    so, I went to build some of the pre-amp and realised that I have 0 non polarized capacitors except the ones for this filter part and they were for the 16000Hz version and do not go above 0.1uf whereas I need the 10uf! did not do much soldered in a socket for the op-amp chip and stuck some leads...

    so it ran and it's really good for the 7000Hz it reaches 8.4v on the envelope detector But for the 45Hz and the 8th filter on the list (474Hz) they both only reach to a maximum of nearly 6.1 volts but at least now they are all showing on the chart now!!! definatly getting somewhere!!

    (v^2)/P = (55^2)/20 =151ohm so the 20 watt load resistor is approximatly 150ohm
