    400Hz Converter Repair

Also, don’t assume anything. A simple resistor can die shorted. If possible, check all you can ‘out’ of circuit. Ps. This isn’t for an airline? Please don’t do this at 35,000ft:) Martin

    400Hz Converter Repair

If they have failed (shorted), that is normally where you ask why. Check for a short before , anything? If not, check upstream. Anything?. Diodes and capacitors do cause 80% of problems. Martin

    400Hz Converter Repair

Those black duel diode boxes? have you checked?. Not sure what they are. But if one or the other diode failed short circuit, you’d have a problem. Can you give us clearer photos. They should check as diodes across the shown terminals. Martin

Tektronix 2214 Storage Oscilloscope can't slide back case to repair it

Lol. Sorry. Try moving the stand while the screw is stuck. It might screw itself back in half a mil. Don’t cut anything!. You’ll be better to get the tongue at the right angle and just pull it. Also, if it’s just one side, put the unit on the floor and pull quickly from the opposite side...

    400Hz Converter Repair

First of all, I have no knowledge of aviation equipment. That said, it’s electronics, right?. How have you identified a short on the blue caps? Have you disconnected them and tested out of circuit?. Martin

    400Hz Converter Repair

Apologies, you seem to have tried inserting an image. One of the moderators may be able to find the picture via a link but it’s best to try again. Keep the image to approx 300kB as that seems to work on this forum. Martin

    400Hz Converter Repair

I’m afraid your information means nothing. We know it’s a 400Hz converter because you told us. Is this aviation? Pump or motor drive? You’ll need to supply much more information. Blue capacitors? Where? Our crystal balls still have ‘social distancing’ and a mask. So are of no use.:) Martin

    Bell 9241 capacitor replacement

You cannot bridge the C152 connection. You will cause a short circuit and probably damage more components. C117 and C118 look like they are shorting with solder between the two. If solder won’t melt, try adding leaded solder to it first. Also use flux. Even put flux on your wick for good...

Philips Monitor 230E1HSB/27 - Screen goes black seconds after working

You didn’t say whether you tried the monitor on a different device. Did you go into settings and select ‘mirror display’ on the chrome book? Martin

Repurposing LED torchiere LED light - 12V or 24V

From your first photo, it could possibly be 13 LEDs in series. If each LEDs Forward voltage is 1.8V, that would be 23.4V. Keeping the Amperage under 1A, 39 LEDs @ 25mA = 975mA. But I doubt this is correct because of the missing driver circuit and resistor on the PCB which we know nothing about...

About Curve Tracer or Electronic Fault Locator

Hi Cervantes and welcome to EP. You don’t mention your experience in electronic repair. This unit is not magic and requires a sound understanding of electronics to use it. There doesn’t appear to be much information on the internet about the unit except from the Nimrof website. It seems like a...

Repurposing LED torchiere LED light - 12V or 24V

There isn’t really a typical voltage for these. It depends on how many LEDs and what wiring configuration. Can you show a picture of the ‘dimmer’ circuit?. I’m pretty sure it’s not a dimmer. More like PWM or a constant current circuit. What is the current rating on the 24V adapter? Martin

    NAD 3020A Amplifier Low Volume

Problem is… most people don’t know about dried capacitors and turn the item on. Those dried capacitors can simply cause noise or more dramatically blow the unit up. you said remove. Did you replace? Martin

    Need circuit for sine-to-square/sawtooth generator

A solenoid will”push, pull” with its required turn on and off voltages. A 60Hz signal can’t become 12V @ 1 Amp. What are you trying to achieve? Martin

    A Phoney Question

I agree the third terminal is shielding. It is directly (usually) connected to the lower mouth piece (mic). Disconnect it and you might hear lots of white noise while moving around. Martin
