    Popping sub woofer

On the green PCB top right of it is a funny marking I can't make out, looks like a track with a strange shape. But it might be the lighting. Adam

    Yes when you did this.

Stage Line 500W amp repair project

When you measured 0.00V across R108 was the transistor defiantly out of circuit? I just don't understand this! Adam

Stage Line 500W amp repair project

Ok so looks like the transistor is not causing any issues here. This is really puzzling now, how can you measure 0 V across R108 when it should be dropping approx. 3 V. Ahhhh! this is doing my head in. For the same voltage to appear across R108 then it must be coming from somewhere. Adam

The PCB. You could meter the base emitter of the transistor also, using the diode feature. Adam

So that was with the transistor fitted. If yes then do the same with it removed. Adam

    Popping sub woofer

Popping subs could indicated a D.C level being applied to them. This could indicate a capacitor as they are supposed to block D.C. You could either replace the capacitor or measure the output with a multi-meter to see if there is and D.C voltage on the output. Adam

Amplifier circuit, need some help on high freq and low input voltage

Hi POP, before we go into looking at the coils which can become quite a task. You will not get very good results from a sine wave with this circuit. You need to use a square wave, I have found a square wave or PWM to be much better in terms of power transfer. This is because the square wave has...
