    Flashing 5watt led?

I'm not sure what you want to make. Are you saying that you want to use that Auto Zone LED string with this Strobe?

Converting a security camera to be wireless

Your cam appears to be using a 4 conductor UTP where two conductors carry the video while the other two supply power. So a bigger question would be .. how are you going power it? Chris

    Flashing 5watt led?

Thanks for the photos. That's a boat load of lights. By the way the issue of water resistance is why I bought a $15.00 Blackburn (Stop Sign model) when I decided to make brake lights from it. Glad to help with your new project. This is what we do here. ;) Chris

    Simple Phototransistor switch circuit

The BC548C has a beta of ~ 1.3K, This should be more than enough to amplify your signal. On the other hand the signal from the PT can be sent directly to a uC's Infra or ADC input. Chris

    Flashing 5watt led?

When you mount it on the bike please post some pix. Good luck, Chris Edit: I just noticed what you did with your avatar. Nice bit of photo editing!

I want to flash some lights

Since you initially posted in this topic ... https://www.electronicspoint.com/flashing-5watt-led-t256005.html you may want to consider the following: 5 Watts @ 24V = 208mA. The LM555 max source/sink = 200mA. Since an LM555 will not output rail to rail the LEDs will draw a little less than...

    Flashing 5watt led?

That's weird. I wouldn't expect the 555 or the caps to get significantly warm. Especially the caps. Chris

    Flashing 5watt led?

So, are you satisfied? Are Q1, R3 (A&B) or the LEDs getting hot or just warm.? Chris

    Electromagnets Attraction/Repulsion force rate.

Which is why the test setup that I posted earlier is arranged as it is. It insures all elements of the test are immobilized. ;) Chris

Did you reconnect the second 5R resistor across R3 yet? Chris

Ha, I guess it's better to be safe. Chris

    Flashing 5watt led?

Not likely the 555. It's pretty hard to kill. More likely you shorted something else or somehow disturbed something when you changed R5. I'd be very surprised to find that the 555 failed. Especially for no reason; unless your soldering skills are more akin to the heat produced by welding. Chris

    Can You Find Funny Statement?

OK, no one caught it so here it is. When he was pulling the tool out from between the poles of the motor he said "With the power on keep the tool in the center and slowly withdraw it until it's about 5 feet away"! Chris

    Simple Phototransistor switch circuit

Dunka! Considering that the 555 is a linear chip that can seamlessly integrate into both TTL and MOS logic families, I think it's safe to say that there's never been a more versatile and ubiquitous (none uC) chip ever made. Considering the availability of powerful uC's today it's amazing that...

    Simple Phototransistor switch circuit

If you do and if you know how to test for hysteresis you will find his circuit (as is) very hairy. To find the hysteresis point isn't easy and the hysteresis window is extremely narrow. I modified it similar to what Duke suggested and obtained reasonable results though, Not as good as the 555...

    Flashing 5watt led?

RS doesn't stock the resistor assortment pack any longer? FYI: A 100K wired in series with 20K = 120K. In short series wired resistors add or .. Rseries = Ra + Rb + Rc ....etc. Capice? Chris Edit: 1/8W resistors will work anywhere in your circuit except for R3. I spec'd 1/4W...

    Flashing 5watt led?

Don't you have a Radio Shack near you? Resistors are one of the few things they still stock in their stores. If you're going to experiment with electronics you want to keep a boat load of values on hand. Buy them in an assortment pack. 120K will yield a pulse width of 90mS. 100K will give you...

    Flashing 5watt led?

Yes, replace R5 with a 120K @ 1/4W. I would recommend unsoldering one end of the 2nd 5R resistor across R3 and test for brightness. Then while it's flashing you can reconnect the disconnected end with finger pressure and see if it makes enough improvement in brightness to warrant the increased...
