Magnet coil help (turns, gauge, for coilgun)

Vital data above! Bob, there must be something contagious going around. This is twice, in just the last two days, that I failed to read vital data. :( Chris

Uh, I'll take your word for it. Chris

Magnet coil help (turns, gauge, for coilgun)

Are we going to see you in one of those "It only hurts when I laugh" episodes or maybe one of those "Inside Jail" shows? Chris

    Cap charging time

Ideally it would be near zero but in the real world nothing is going to be zero. Your wire gage, capacitor ESR, switching device transit time and any other resistance in the line are going to be your limiting factors. Chris

    Voltage Drop

Study this simple circuit. You will note that there is no common or ground in this circuit. Flip it upside down or rotate it 180°. Nothing changes. Currents are all the same in a series circuit. Voltages and polarities are relative to the two points (nodes) measured. Chris

analoge to PWM with a fixed 10 MHZ frequency

Did you struggle to come up with this title? What are you going to PWM at 10MHz? Chris

    Voltage Drop

I've heard of this. It's called a "ladder schematic". :p Chris

    Voltage Drop

Short answer is It doesn't matter which convention is used. The results will be the same. Chris

CC, have you researched how that happened? :D Chris

For what value of L, will this circuit resonate at 332kHz?

There are times when I b!tch about people that seemingly post suggestions without reading through the thread. It would appear that I'm now guilty of this myself... SMACK!!!, WHACK, WHACK!! There, I just whacked myself. I didn't realize that you have the existing circuit. What duke said is...

    800W SMSP

The world we currently occupy has had the bar lowered as to not leave emotional scars on our youth. They're all winners now. It's now so low these kids are constantly tripping over it! Chris

    800W SMSP

There's the problem. Forum rules forbid us from doing students assignments, theses, etc. On the other hand there's nothing stopping you from making use of Google. Chris

Battery charging regime for low charge rate?

An Nicad expert I'm not. I do know what keeps them going though, and that's daily use and recharge cycles. They will give years of use when cycled daily. I'm happy to say that I've never heard of them termed as "emergency batteries" because that would be an oxymoron. ;) Chris

For what value of L, will this circuit resonate at 332kHz?

Unfortunately the source impedance and the terminating impedance form a key factor of filter design. Without this data it's impossible to design a bandpass filter. If you can post the complete schematic of the original device we may be able to guesstimate it. It was simulated in Tina by...

    Need help with strobe circuit

Getting started with micros the painless way. One Picaxe 08M2 will flash your LEDs and do the Tango for you. The free .pdf documentation is nothing short of stellar. A complete nube can code 2 LEDs independently flashing in less than 30 minutes of reading time. The programming editor has a built...

differential op amp to measure current

I deleted my first reply before I posted it because I had so many questions that I was confusing myself! This is because this topic and your last one are definitely related. They both share a common fault though. Extremely pertinent information is being disseminated in dribs and drabs like a...
