    Vacuum Tube Clock

I ordered up some Dekatrons but I don't know how successful I'll be as they're coming from Ukraine. Making one flip flop from vacuum tubes is one thing but an entire clock string is way out of my budget.

    Vacuum Tube Clock

Thanks. Sure enough the next day I jumbled the search terms around and found a few results. http://www.jogis-roehrenbude.de/Leserbriefe/Bruegmann-Digital-Roehren-Clock/Digital-Roehrenuhr.htm Yikes! and a Dekatron approach from our friends at Hackaday...

    Vacuum Tube Clock

1st off I tried searching the forum but it didn't seem to work. I tried a google search and found plenty of Nixie clocks. Nixies are not vacuum tubes! Anyhow, I was contemplating maybe building a Nixie clock but instead of ICs or even discrete transistors using vacuum tubes. Has anyone ever...

    Need Help Finding Vintage Molex

It's for a SWTPC kit from the 70s. The meter has 5 different modules that plug into the display section. It is a bear to calibrate since you have to dismantle the whole thing. I'd like to make some extender cables.

    Need Help Finding Vintage Molex

My eyes are practically bleeding trying to source 60s-70s vintage, chassis mount, male Molex connectors. Note the side view. The connector slips through a rectangle hole and is locked in place. Pin dia. is 1mm x 1mm, spacing is 4mm .

Solid State Solution for Fried Autotransformer

Since space so tight I'm forced to use an external 48V PS. To cut down on size I used fixed resistors instead of pots. I'm going to cram an inline fuse in somewhere. I completed the board and have 48.5V, 24V, 12V, 6V, 5.2V, 3V & 1.5V. Pretty much within 10% of filament requirements. Thanks for...

Solid State Solution for Fried Autotransformer

It's kind of funny. I was scanning the manual and it seems shorts were always a concern with this tester. A fuse at the input of the regulator chain would alleviate any worries.

Solid State Solution for Fried Autotransformer

An excerpt from the datasheet: Since the regulator is "floating" and sees only the input-to-output differential voltage, supplies of several hundred volts can be regulated as long as the maximum input to input differential is not exceeded.

Solid State Solution for Fried Autotransformer

The max rating is for Input to Output differential. In my case ~25V. Max is 40. Am I missing something?

Solid State Solution for Fried Autotransformer

I got some advice from my tube buddy and have 1.2, 3, 5, 6.3, 12.6, 25 & 50 as my targets. I want to keep things as small as possible but it looks like I have to use an external supply with a regulator array in place of the transformer. My understanding of emission testers is that grids and...

Solid State Solution for Fried Autotransformer

A tale of woe. It started when I bought a tube tester years ago. It was in pretty poor shape but it powered up. Somehow when I pushed a few switches(I shoulda read the instructions 1st)and my new toy was dead. So I tossed it into the corner and forgot about it. Fast forward. I unwrapped the...

    Seeking Front Panel Silkscreen Alternatives

I was going to wait for the completed restore but here it is. I'm adding this to my bag of tricks. I got some laser decal paper, printed in reverse, applied and after 24 hours clear coat. It was relatively inexpensive, I had complete control and I would say 90% perfect

Has anyone had success transferring an image from laser printer to a blank painted chassis?

    Knightkit 400(A) or Lafayette TE-15 Assembly/Maintenence Manual

I'm using FF too. When I click on the download bar(that's right above the donate bar) the page just reloads. No PDF. If I click on view I get a page that wants to add a browser tool bar

    Knightkit 400(A) or Lafayette TE-15 Assembly/Maintenence Manual

I'm not about to add a browser extension so I can download . Besides, that's a operation manual. Thanks tho

    Knightkit 400(A) or Lafayette TE-15 Assembly/Maintenence Manual

I could use the above. I'm in the throws of restoration of a rusty old wreck and sure could use the assembly manual. I have the user manual but since this was a kit I'd feel warm and cozy with the assembly manual. I do have the user manual; I just don't want to fork over $ for an EBay copy for...

    Datasheet or Databook Wanted

I'm trying to fix a remote controlled ceiling fan. The receiver's triacs got changed and now the motor spins up but several functions aren't doing their thing. I'm sort of guessing that a multi-legged DIP named RH7600RA-3 may have been compromised by the shorted triac and that it's some sort of...

    Eico 324 inductors

I had another thought but pretty much ran into a dead end. The circuit uses a tank circuit via a variable air capacitor. If I have the low and high values of said part I just do a lot of calculations. I don't have a cap tester with me but maybe someone out there has some insight.

    Eico 324 inductors

I'm restoring an EICO 324 Sig Gen and while I find the documentation is readily available a closer look reveals that the actual inductor values are missing and simply referred to as coil "A" through coil "E". Not that I need to change them but it would be nice to know.
