Arcade CRT monitor not powering up every time

Most arcade game CRTs (monitors) were made by Wells Gardner or Electrohome. There are "monitor get well" kits available from arcade supply companies and on Amazon and ebay.

Where to get 4 pin to 2 pin 3.5mm adapter

The car stereo is probably expecting a line level input. Unless the input is labeled "microphone" a preamp that supplies power to the microphone will be required; not just some connector change.

    Change in site ownership

@eeadam Adam La Barbera I presume of the same EETech that took over operation of All About Circuits a few years ago. When EETech took ownership of AAC there was much concern expressed by the forum members that it would not go well but those concerns have not been born out except for some...

How do I add specific sound to my project.

The MP3 Trigger from Robertsonics is easy to use and well documented. There's also a WAV model if you prefer. https://www.sparkfun.com/categories/343 https://robertsonics.com

    World's Greatest Cover Band

I don't think so. That has been suggested several times in the comment sections of their videos. All were from the same person as far as I noticed and there was no response. Leonid indicated that they were trying to tour the U.S. in January, 2019.

    World's Greatest Cover Band

In my endless musical explorations I recently discovered a Russian and Ukrainian group, Leonid (Vorobyev) & Friends, that covers classic American groups such as Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire so perfectly that it's worth sharing. I created a playlist of my favorites for your convenience but of...

Cooling soldering iron quickly after use to reduce oxidation

Excessive wet wiping and rapid cooling only risk cracking the plating. @Bluejets had the right idea. Clean the tip and enrobe it in solder when you turn it off. The solder surface acts as a sacrificial oxidant during cooling and heating. It also protects the tip from accidental impacts.

    Multimeter testing led

If you need to test LEDs for function, color or polarity, there are a few common methods that you should know about: a button cell, a 9V battery with a 1k resistor and a dedicated LED tester.

He's even been trolling the Siemens PLC and switchgear support people lately. Why can't he just make his LED signs in peace?

    4017 IC

I was just reacting to a phrase that irks me, not accusing you, though you didn't deny unsafe, unethical or creativity deficit. ;) I have a pet peeve about platitudes. I've done a few 555/4017 sequencer projects before. You didn't say what your plan was, just wanted a source for wide dispersion...

Inserted 9v battery wrong way into fire alarm, expected damage?

Warranties for consumer safety devices are often liberally interpreted as a hedge against civil liability. In other words, replacement with no questions asked is typical. It's better to replace a device that cost them $3 to make instead of accept the small possibility of significant exposure in...

Inserted 9v battery wrong way into fire alarm, expected damage?

Do you mean a smoke alarm unit? The battery will be dead or nearly so and the alarm cannot be trusted. It's surprisingly poor design that would allow reverse installation and not have electronic protection to prevent damage. If the alarm is more than ten years old, it will be overdue for...

    What might this be?

It could be almost anything from a fan to a homebrew miniature evaporative cooler to a WiFi antenna though the apparent presence of metal tape militates against the latter. Your picture doesn't have enough resolution even to determine the number and type of cables, if they're cables. Maybe the...

    555 flasher isnt flashing

There are various current paths within the 555. Besides the board markings, the low voltages you measured were a clue. There was a design contest back around 2011 where one entrant used 555s as capacitors and resistors in his circuit so the entire circuit was made of them except the output...
