    AC Polarity swapping circuit

In my opinion that should be a priority for everyone, thanks for bringing that up. Thanks for encouraging me to have fun, I think that's what I need it. I don't think it is, if not anything, now I know vacuum balloons for heavy lifting was considered as well as perpetual motion.

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Harald, your interpretation is exactly right. The load will have rectifier so DC component on AC line shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the links although they look too sophisticated for me. I'd be checking H-Bridge in first step. I still can't understand how you think I should use SCRs in...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

I'm not good with descriptions I might try , Achieving the attached output from the input is what I want to achieve. Is there any questions in the circuit input/output?

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Well no wonder! True, that's why I have that challenge and all these discussions. And remember this is all a hypothesis right now, may work or may not. maybe too expensive that not worth it. But in my opinion any idea worth a thought and maybe try it if it doesn't cost a fortune

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Maybe that's the gap which causes misunderstanding, and also perhaps it's needed to go through all the posts. I didn't mean to deliver power to buzzer directly. This would just be a trigger for a circuit that would control the buzzer, as to when to start buzzing and when to stop. Right?

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Really??? What's the problem with it?

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

I missed your questions as I was focused on exploring solutions. AC as it is powers up the load, but I'm hoping to get more out of it. With the output as described I'm hoping to trigger an action in load apart from it's normal operation. Let's say there is a buzzer in the load and I want to...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Yes that whole board for A$12.5 is a real bargain. If you check the component part itself, you'd be surprised it's as same price as that board: https://au.element14.com/texas-instruments/lm3886t-nopb/ic-amp-audio-power-mono/dp/3116867?st=LM3886 Eventually I would need to buy two of each on every...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

I spend a bit of time on this as you and Whonoes both mentioned. Just considering a typical H-Bridge with 4 SCRs and the load. That seems to be acting like rectifier and I couldn't get positive and negative cycles. From my research it turns out I should have 8 SCRs and 4 different control...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Thanks Whonoes, as much as I like the idea, if my calculations are right, this solution seems to be much more expensive than an SCR H-Bridge which is what I'm going to figure out how to do. As you said either an oscillator or a dedicated MCU/firmware needed to generate the waveform. The other...

    Yes we can say that

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

I'm not familiar with power amplifier, any particular part you can name for me to check out? How do they compare with SCRs pricewise? Do they need some other circuits on the side like oscillators, etc to generate sinewave?

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Just normal two core cable carrying 12Vac.I will use Zero crossing detection to trigger another circuit that detects if positive or negative half of the cycle is happening, i.e. normal polarity or swapped polarity is coming. But for now I'm focused on the power supply end and not worried about...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

What control signal and waveforms can do that? Sorry for confusion, the load would be away from the power supply only connected via an AC lead. And before the rectifier in the load there can be zero crossing detect to sense this.

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

In fact someone did a simulation in LTspice to that generates the output power waveform that is required. Swapping polarity is modeled by multiplying sinewave by -1 when needed. I attached the simulation just in case. The aim now is to come up with a circuit that generates same output as Vcd...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Thanks Whonoes, I had a look and looks like the thyristor bridge output is DC, however, as you can see in attached image "Polarity switch.png" in my 2nd message, the output of my circuit is required to be AC. The only difference with normal AC is that positive and negative half cycles could come...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Good pick up Harald! I'll have another go at it also another version with SCRs and check the results. Just to confirm, should I generalize this to other instances, too? What I learned from TRIACs info sheet was Gate and MT2 should be of same polarity to conduct, both positive or both negative.

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Thanks Harald! The load is going to be include a switch mode LED driver/power supply with built in full-rectifier bridge. The quality measure I have is circuit which acts/switches as quick as possible (less than 250us) around zero crossing point. At this point I'm not tightening the...

    AC Polarity swapping circuit

Hi Folks! I'm quite excited to join here today. I'm new to power electronics and out of interest working on a simulation on a 32Vac line driving a low power load (less than 30W). I'd like to control negative and positive sinewave cycles going to the load and chose what cycle to go next. For...
