Hi,
I work at a "Repair Cafe" once a month, trying to save electronics going in the bin.
At the last session, someone brought in an Acoustic Solutions DAB radio, the Portal 3 model. This had been connected to the wrong power supply, (9v ac unregulated instead of 9v dc switchmode) and so it had blown a couple of components in the power train.
These appear to be a diode and a resistor, both cooked so badly that they were unreadable. If I recall correctly, they were the first two components on the board from the dc input plug +ve side.
I know it's a long shot, but was hoping for clues, schematic, or even someone with one willing to have a look inside.
Cheers
