ADC Circuit

Hi Friends,

Can i design a ADC ckt that can be directly interfaced to the parallel port of the computer.
Plzzz i am looking out for the adc ckt that can be interfaced directly.

Suppose if i use avr controller for adc  then can anyone give me the sample code that reads the analog input and then giving the output of avr controller to the parallel port of the computer.
I am dummy as far as microcontrollers are concerned.
Plzzzzzzzz help me.

You don't need to use an AVR or PIC. There many many ADC and DAC chips on the market. Analog Devices has heaps that will do the job. Browse their site for datasheets.

But for ADC Chips like adc0808 i will have to interface with microprocessors which i don't want.

I am looking out for  ADC circuit that can be directly interfaced to the parallel port.
Plzzzz help me.

ADC chips like that can be interfaced directly to the port. You may need a buffer chip for some of them. You should then be able to read the data from the port with some software.
