Hi all,

What is the best connection setup for ADSL line filter (micro) that come
with Netcomm modem?

Currently, two telephone, Phone 1 & Phone 2 is connected to a single
telephone line using double adaptor. The telephone line is then splited
again using double adaptor, one for Phone 2 and the other for the ADSL
modem.

Currently, the ADSL miroline filter is connected between the Phone 1 and
main line.

So, where do I connect the ADSL line filter?

Thanks in advance.

You need another filter for the other phone, then put a filter before each
phone (but NOT before the modem!!)

Just remember its a clear line to the ADSL modem. The phones have a
filter before the phone. You may need a splitter to start - this is
clear to the modem and filter to the phone.

Okay, let me clearify my setup, there is only one active phone line
installed in my place. Two phones is connected to this active line, but
ADSL modem and Phone 2 is connected together to the splited active phone
line. I have only 1 line filter, but can get another one if required.

Diagram of setup....

____B__________ Phone 1
Active line _____A________/
\ ___D___ Phone
2
\___C__/
\________ Adsl
modem

Currently, the line filter is connected in position A

So, I'll need to install line filters at position B and D?

Thanks in advance.

No filter at A or D, just C and B. You'll notice that the filter (probably)
has an input, and two outputs marked 'phone' and 'ADSL'. The ADSL output
goes *only* to the ADSL modem.

B and D only need micro-filters.

Forget the extra socket if you have a splitter. It will be better to have
the line straight to the modem.

You need a filter at B and another at D. Remove the filter from A.

Of course your other option (which avoids the 2nd filter) would be:

_______________________ ADSL Modem
__________________/ _______ Phone 1
\__Filter__/
\_______ Phone 2

You just need to remember that the modem needs direct access to the phone
line but each phone needs to go thru a filter...

and this is where you get a filter or splitter that can be hard wired.
