Buck-Boost grounding question

Hi
I was asked the following question:
The output's ground of a buck-boost converter was connected to the same ground as the input.
Will the circuit work or will it damage any component?

I didn't find any clues...

Hello and welcome to the forum.

The answer is: input and output of the buck-boost converter have to have a common ground. It will not work otherwise.
