Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if there are any good resource books about all the different types of cable connectors (Parallel Ports, Serial Ports, USB and DVI connections, etc.). Specifically about the specifications and dimensional sizes? I know there's a ton of information online but I was hoping there would be a standard resource book for it all.

I’m not saying there isn’t a book of all connector types, but I’ve never seen one. Obviously they change and new types become available all the time.
You may have more luck specifying the use first ie: Audio, video, computer, Radio (RF), power, Vehicle etc etc. Then look at the specs and keep your own database/book.

Just been looking at bertus hardwarebook.info/ and it looks very useful. Cheers bertus.
Also I agree with Martaine about building up your own data book. I have a number of Word files of info I have cut and pasted from the interweb and they have proved very useful over time.
Once upon a time, back in the dark ages, I remember having 4 large filing cabinets full of catalogues and notes on components and circuits and such to enable me to do the job. God, you kids have it easy!!

Edit -- this last statement is a LOL, by the way.

Hi. The hardwarebookinfo does not work for me
Am daily looking for hardware of many kinds and dreamed of a 'magic' parts source guide place with electronics and not electronics :(

Today I was after the 1/2" zinc metal pivot cams as in this vinyl window guide, with no success. Had to mail-order entire assemblies with the risk of not fitting. They expect me to buy $300 each replacement window + $200 each replacement labor instead of a 25 cent zamac part. It would be total joy to see a window vendor in that situation of needing a tiny part for his own house.
