Encoder PCB basic question

Hello everyone,

I am going to use for a project a magnetic encoder, and now I am designing the schematic to later get the PCB manufactured. My question is pretty simple, since I am not familiar at all in PCB design or schematics. The Quadrature A and B pins and index have to be connected to the controller, but do I have to connect them also to a pin header or something? So I can directly measure their outputs if I need it, without passing through the controller.

Thank you very much in advance.

That's up to you. You don't have to, but providing test pins (or a pin heade) makes debugging easier nad reduces the risk of damaging components during testing. Even a simple through hole (via) without a pin inserted can provide a good point for attaching test leads.
