File size limit for uploading attachments

It would be helpful if a 'File size too large' message appeared on screen if posters try to upload a file which is bigger than allowed.
If there are instructions anywhere regarding file sizes it is not at all clear where to find them.

The maximum file size for the attachments is about 5 Mb.

Thanks. But it would be helpful if the site owners could make this info readily and generally available, rather than individual posters having to seek it for themselves from the admins, having experienced failure to upload something.

@Alec_t : This is one of the issues that has been around for a very long time. I doubt it will be resolved
