Dusting off this older thread: 'Might anyone have experience on the easiest way to completely bypass the OEM RF/xmit-receive, and use instead a newer-tech momentary dry-c.c. ...? The patient is a yellow-button Chamberlain that appears to be losing its marbles.
My old opener works fine "mechanically", but the initiation-circuitry is now possessed! As a retired EE, I had some time to do all manner of deductive troubleshooting, and everything points to intermittent 'firing' within the integrated main-board: My goal would be to defeat/disable all RF interface to the contact-closure circuitry - which I do want to leave in place. E.g. only the wired momentary pushbutton ... -| : ... would remain. Once that was proven reliable and poltergeist-free, would I append a new external wireless subsystem.
Any thoughts and experiences here, folks?
