The manual pulse generator is more than 20 meters away from the control cabinet. The original power adapter supplies power remotely, resulting in significant line loss.
The measured voltage at the MPG end is only 4.3V. The differential signal amplitude output by the encoder is significantly lower than the receiver threshold, and pulses are occasionally lost. Replacing it with a thicker cable is too costly, and moving the power supply is inconvenient.
Could the handwheel be modified to have a wide voltage input, with an internal boost module to stabilize it at 5V? Or could a line driver be used to enhance the driving capability?
