Hey all, I work for a satellite communications company, and we're looking for a Senior PCB Designer/CAD Engineer to join our company. This isn't a standard layout role. You'd be the technical authority for our PCBA design strategy, setting standards the rest of the team builds on.

Some details/things you'd own:

• Advanced PCB Architecture: You'll lead the strategy behind our HDI stack-up designs, from choosing via technology to floor-planning critical components on our flagship products. This is the "big picture" work, not just filling in a template.
• Strategic Schematic Ownership: You won't just be executing captures handed to you. You'll own complex hierarchical schematics end to end, doing the deep-dive circuit analysis needed to turn abstract system requirements into designs that actually perform.
• Design Simulation & Integrity: You'll oversee DRC across the board and lead cross-functional signal integrity and power integrity work, the kind of analysis that gets us to first-pass success instead of a second or third spin.
• CAD Infrastructure & Library Governance: You'll set the standard for how we build and maintain our centralized component libraries, making sure everything plays nicely with PLM and gets reused across the ADC instead of reinvented every project.
• Innovation & Automation Lead: This one's a favorite for us. You'll build Python-based automation and AI-driven workflows that speed up schematic generation and make routing feasibility checks faster and smarter.
• Cross-Functional Synthesis: You'll be the connective tissue between Hardware, Mechanical, Antenna, and Firmware, solving the messy EMI and physical integration problems that come up when those worlds collide.
• Design for Excellence (DfX): You'll define and enforce our DFM, DFA, and DFT guidelines, keeping cost down and yield up as designs move from prototype into high-volume production.

Ideal person has deep Cadence Allegro/OrCAD chops, has actually led (not just executed) multilayer/HDI designs, and is comfortable mentoring junior engineers.
