Hi,

I've been looking for a solution on how to build a transmission gate, using
discrete NMOS/PMOS transistors.

The catch is, as far as I understand, that you need to be able to connect the
substrate to either Vcc / Gnd for the different transistors. Most discrete transistors
have the substrate-lead already pre-bonded to Source or Drain...

Anyone have a suggestion on how to proceed?

(The grander project is about creating a strictly PMOS/NMOS based computer, of course ;-)

The 4066 manages to do this, does it not?

Have a look at the 4007. It provides a number of basic building blocks from which you can create this and other types of gate.

Ah, yes, I have looked at the 40xx series, and indeed the 4007 has a number of correctly configured mosfets.

I only forgot to mention that I wanted to build it from 3 and 4-leads discrete transistors :)

So basically I would want 1/4th of a 4007 in a small footprint SMD casing.

Any leads?

Regards/M

Maybe you want something like this.

They are available. But you're going to have to find an N channel version, and I leave that as an exercise... (I couldn't find one in the few minutes I spent searching)
