Good day forumers... greetings from a beginner...!

I am trying to collect as much info as possible (commercial availability or DIY kits or circuit plan) on door bell options that are not based on wireless or old style cable installation. I have tried most wireless options on the market, but my house (it has its own cable door bell installed) is just in between the gate (where I need the button installed) and the little apartment (tenant needs his own door bell) I have built a long distance away at the end of the property (100 meters roughly). I don't feel like digging a trench connecting the apartment to the entrance gate and since wave-based systems can't work because of the house shielding them, I think a good option would be to have the impulsion from the gate push button travel to the little house via the electrical wiring of the house (the little apartment is wired as an extension of the house, just like a remote extra-room). I know the PLC (Power Line Connection) technology is widely used nowadays as an alternative to WiFi. Strangely I can not find a commercialized solution for something much simpler than providing internet signal in all rooms of the house...

... any suggestions please...?

I wish you a nice day.

Wouldn't one of these long-range wireless doorbells work for you?
Several claim over a 1000' (300 meters) range, and one (not cheap) unit claims 4000', so should have enough signal power to go the distance plus through the house walls.

Thank you Crutschow for your effort... I will investigate this further (though the house is really massive) and perhaps try to order the best fit. Still, I do not give up the search for CPL-based devices...

All the best

A practical solution here would be powerline signaling (simple PLC modules) or a low-frequency signal injector that sends a trigger over the existing mains wiring much simpler than full internet-grade PLC. DIY options using DIN-rail PLC relays or X10-style signaling still work well for this use case. Just like people carefully research options such as Doraemon mobile before choosing a setup, it’s worth testing a small PLC trigger module first before committing to a full build.
