Installing Battery Charger - Where's the Fuse?

Hi,

I'm installing a new 20A intelligent shore powered battery charger.
The charger is located about 15 feet (wire run length) from the
battery box, separated by a bulkhead.

On which end of the wire run should the overcurrent protection go?

I'd put it close to the battery - that's where the serious fault
current will come from if you get a short in the wiring.

On which end of the wire run should the overcurrent protection go?

On the BATTERY end.....to protect the boat from fire caused by the wire
shorting the battery, which is FAR more powerful than the charger.
