Is there a way to repair this? This used to be a switch (much like a volume of how strong or how weak the spin of the fan)

Looks like a potentiometer with a switch, like the ones used in pocket radios. Normally 10 K ohms.

First, let's confirm its a pot or a switch.
Did the original have 2 speeds or a variable speed? My guess is it had variable speed, in which case, it's a pot.
Can we have a good photos of the 2 sides of the board?
