Reticon seems to have discontinued the SAD1024.

I believe that Panasonic has picked up the product or similar.

Digikey no longer lists them, and I get nowhere searching Panasonics site.

Ah. Then a Google search for Panasonic BBD reveals the solution:

Have a look for "surround sound" chips - they may do what you want

sci.electronics.components (which would be a better place to look). Except
the poster was looking for the Panasonic equivalent, and did find it.
Something like MN3307 or MN3007 or something like that. Go find the thread,
it had the part number.

They carry several BBD chips, including new Chinese equivalents of the
old Panasonic parts. They also have some Priceton Tech digital delay
chips that are not only inexpensive, they're easy to use and
practically all-in-one-chip solutions for echo type effects.

It was my understanding that Panasonic still makes, and Digikey
still sells some BBD devices, but they're not compatible with the
venerable SAD1024.
Check out this thread from rec.audio.pro (this thread is the last I
remember reading about BBD's until now):

That thread's a couple years old so I just looked in digikey, it
says the MN3214, MN3011 and all other BBD chips in that series are now
obsolete, so if you want BBD's you have to find them surplus or pull
them out of old equipment.
