Magnetic driveway alarm

Anyone seen plans for a DIY magnetic driveway alarm? The type with a
magnetic sensor buried in, or next to, a driveway that senses the
passing of a vehicle.

   They aren't magnetic.  They are proximity alarms that sense the steel
when it detunes the loop of wire.

There are 2 types the loop type and a self contained sensor that only
has an output when a metalic material like a car moves within 10 - 15

There are a lot more technologies than that, but they get expensive
very fast.
