Evening, all.
I picked this up out of a neighbour's dustbin. When I turn it on at the
wall socket, the fan on the mech spins briefly, and the motor at the
back of the mech deck lifts and then lowers the back of the deck and the
laser flicks on, but nothing else happen - no spindle motor rotation, no
display, no drawer open/close (even after I've manually opened the
drawer and then turned the player back on). The voltages on the PSU
board look OK, so I'm wondering if part of the problem might be a couple
of bad channels on a motor-drive IC. Contact cleaner doesn't seem to
have had any impact.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers, Jon.
