Operating a infrared remote with sound waves Mistery!

The TV was ON and accidentally I produced a very loud sound, probably
with lots of harmonics from the high frequency speakers.located at
about 10 feet from the TV.

The sound from the TV went down to zero. As if I had pressed "Mute".

Remote control behavior changed. The button that normally controls the
volume changed to control channels.
Operate the channel control buttons and everything went back to
normal.

I would like to repeat this action but my tweeters are expensive.

Did something happened that can be used for a new invention ?

Unlikely.
Almost all electronic components work as microphones, to some extent.
(this is usually minimised as much as possible).
It's possible that a loud enough sound may get coupled into the bit
that usually amplifies the IR remote signal (which is very weak) and
cause random effects.
This may have (for example) switched the sort of remote the TV was
expecting, or just confused it for a bit.

OR.....

The sound waves were SO powerful, that when they impacted surfaces in the
room, the absorbed energy was radiated out in IR. ;)

Some 'universal' IR remotes are actually programmed through an internal mic
by playing .wav files from your pc speakers close to the device itself.
