Outlet caused HOT IPAD/TV has lines on screen

My new IPad was HOT, I used a different plug and it wasn't HOT. THE TV PLUGED INTO SAME OUTLET HAS LINES ON SCREEN, I thought TV was old, now I think outlet damaged TV, I want husband to get Electrician/OLD HOUSE! I told him I think outlet damaged TV! He doesn't think so? If I knew for sure he might get electrician....Thanks Pamela

Those erose patterns look like inflicted PHYSICAL damage to me. An electrical problem or panel driver problem would take out info a line or combo of lines.
