hello everyone!
im new here and this's my first topic or let me say my first request for help  ;D

im doing a project on a compact heart sound monitoring system (phonocardiogram) that convert the signal and displays it on LCD , i want to use a bandpass filter with cut off  frequency of (10HZ  and 600HZ ) to attinuate the undersired frequencies!

i don't know which filter is better to be used either passive or active filters! i want the system to be simple since i want it to be as compact as possible!

thank you for ur help

Active is better because it gives amplification and the output is low impedance.

You can download some software to help you design active filters.

I'm newcomer's in electronics labs  :)
may be you can use the active filter than passive filter, complete the circuit with variable potentiometers to adjust the frequency that you want
