I used this once. It was like a DIY package. Needed some soldering. Here is also an MP3 player module with Simplified Output Speaker U-disk TF SD for Arduino. It supports the sampling rate (KHz): 8 / 11.025 / 12/16 / 22.05 / 24/32 / 44.1 / 48
2. 24-bit DAC output.

That's neat but by the time you add an Arduino and some sort of display and controls it would probably be bigger than mine (not to mention more expensive).

I put this together from stuff I already had. When I bought this module I intended to use it in the portable stereo but then I found the module with the volume knob. After that I thought I'd use this module with the old front panel & speakers to build something to hang on a wall but I changed my mind and bought another one with a knob for that (I'll post a Project Log for that when I get to it).
Which means that this module and the original one from the portable stereo were surplus to needs and since I had a box that this would fit I used it.

BTW, speaking of putting things together from stuff I had on hand, here's the new shop radio. It is the original module from the portable stereo mounted in the case from a dead power supply, powered by an old phone charger and with a little pair of speakers that I wasn't using. Note the yellow wire with the alligator clip for the antenna
I don't listen to broadcast radio radio in there so this is mostly for listening to the TV upstairs via the FM transmitter.
The old radio is on the shelf above but right after taking the pic I removed it and shuffled things around to make room for another box in the shelf.
