Hi
I am considering buying an power inverter for our car (fitting into the cigarette power socket so that you power UK 3 pin plug devices)

The inverter says it has an AC Output: 230V±10V what does this mean?
will it be able to power a device using a UK standard 3 pin plug?

If I want to plug in a device with a power adapter as opposed to a standard plug what do I need to check for on the device or the adapter before plugging it in to the inverter?

Thanks
Adam

it means its not guaranteed to be 230V exactly, there may be ± 10V variations ....ie .... 220V to 240V

will it be able to power a device using a UK standard 3 pin plug?

if it has a UK socket outlet on it, sure .... just don't exceed the ratings of the inverter
else it will smoke

also if powering reasonable loads 100W or more ( if the inverter you buy cab handle that

1) you will probably have to connect directly to the battery ... it will be too much for the cig light socket and wiring

2) start the engine regularly else the battery will go flat and reasonably quickly

OK all that said ... what "devices" are you wanting to power ?
and what wattage output for an inverter were you planning to buy ?
