Powered speaker is noisy when turning on.

Hello,

I have a set of M-Audio BX5a powered studio monitors. When one of them is powered on, a loud buzz is heard that gets progressively louder. Can someone help diagnose what the possible problem may be?

Thank you for the reply. I've attached a couple of pics of the circuit board. As more diagnostic info, there is a loud click when turning it on and off.

Is it my imagination or is the top of the upper large electrolytic domed?
If so, I would change both big ones.

Others can perhaps see better than me.

Certainly looks that way, and certainly a good starting point to swap them out...

Yes, the top of one of them is domed. I'll start there.
