[Q] Buying / Building an SMD Mountable Adapter fpr QFP -> BGA

Hi All,

I just wonder if other people wanted and did once buy or make
an adapter to replace a QFP144 Component with a smaller BGA
using the adapter approach. The PCB should remain the same.

Is it feasable to 'buy' empty QFP-144 Packages and to try to
interconnect the Leadframe with a thin layer of PCB holding
the BGA device?

Any idea, links, experience would help.
