Hi,

I need some help with replacing 2 capacitors for my washing machine & this post ( https://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/capacitor-equivalent.274709/ ) has brought me here.

My washing machine blew up, without me knowing, & I have found that 1 of the 2 noise filtering/mains suppression (?) capacitors have blown, along with the fuse.

I have found, so far, that RIFA capacitors are infamous for doing this when they age but I am uncomfortable in guessing whether I can replace them both with metallized film, polypropylene film, etc.

Please let me know what I can use to replace them both. I will attach some pics but the types are:

both seem to be "PME 271 M"

One is "0,6 uF X2", the blown one is "0,47uF X2".

I should also mention that I have not tested the washing machine with the capacitors removed (as I've read during my limited research) I'll try that this weekend. Although the post mentioned that noise in the power line may cause some serious problems for my neighbours (but I really NEED to do some laundry!).

Thanks for any help.
Mark L.

EDIT:
Is it just me or have these pics turned upside down after uploading?
