veritas 8 alarm system advice needed

Hi - anyone know how to increase the delay time between entry to the house and the alarm activating? Currently I only get about a three second delay between opening my front door and the alarm going off!

My first call would be to Veritas (or whoever installed/manufactured/etc. the alarm).
