Video heads for camcorder too expensive.

I have a camcorder Sony ccd f555e and it needs new video heads.
I was quoted over $300 for it from supplier here in Melbourne.
Please can anyone advise if there are alternatives, example second
hand shop where I can get parts or whatelse can I do.

Could well be uneconomic to repair it. I don't know that model but it
sounds like an old one. Better put your money towards a new Hi8 or D8.
